Trip Introduction

Ramdung Peak is a mountain in the Upper Rolwaling Region.  Ramdung Go is another name for it. It is situated in the Dolakha District. It is located at an altitude of 5,925m/19,438ft. It is placed on the Khumbu border. It is classified as a climbing peak in the B category. It is the best trekking and climbing combination in the remote area. It is a difficult peak to scale. We will have spectacular views of Gaurishanker, Dorje Lakpa, Chobabhamre, and Mount Everest, among other things.

The main highlight of the trip is the summit of the Ramdung peak, which is located between tiny hills and the surrounding mountains, creating a unique view. The calm atmosphere surrounding the lake also makes the journey worthwhile. Because the path leads you near the Tibetan border, there is a strong Buddhist influence in the area. However, you may witness Brahmin, Chhetri, and Sherpa’s culture and lifestyle. The trip offers trekkers to experience the Rolwaling valley’s Sherpa culture as it passes through communities like Chhetchhet and Beding. The path is primarily made up of waterfalls, rivers, Mani walls, rice fields, and meadows that all work together to make the walk unforgettable.

Your 14-day Tsho Rolpa trek will begin with a journey from Kathmandu to Simi Gaun. The drive will take between 7 to 8 hours. Simi Gaun is the starting point for your trek to Tsho Rolpa. The Rolwaling walk goes up along the Upper Tama Koshi riverbank, providing views of the Mountains River. We will pass through Sherpa, Tamang, and Chhetri communities, experiencing their traditional ways of life. You will be rewarded with breath-taking views of Gaurishankar Himal as you travel through the small settlements of Rolwaling valley like Donang, Beding, and Naa.  Further, we will trek toward Ramdung Base camp and High Camp where we will have Pre-Climbing training. Finally, we will summit to Ramdung Peak and descend to Tsho Rolpa Lake and Final descend to the Simi Gaun.

We cannot overestimate the importance of being in excellent physical shape and health, which requires training before your trip to ensure that you are properly prepared.
  • This is the trek for you if you have previous rock climbing or wall climbing experience. It is recommended that you have prior experience with high-altitude trekking.
  • The weather in the Himalayas can be unpredictable, you must plan and prepare accordingly, as well as stay up to date on the weather forecast.
  • The teahouses, or trekking lodges, where we stay on the trek are very basic, with just basic services. Hot water may not be accessible at all times and may be charged extra, as well as access to electrical outlets for charging electronics. Wi-Fi is available in some areas, although the quality of the connection may be poor.
