Trip Introduction

Chulu is a mountain range in Nepal’s Himalayas. The Chulu is located in the Damodar Himal, which is north of the Annapurna Range. It is located on a ridge above Manang Valley. The Chulu Range is divided into three Peaks: Chulu East, Chulu West, and Chulu Far East. It is 6,584m/21601ft above sea level. It is the ideal mix of trekking and climbing. Views of Annapurna II, III, and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak, and Manaslu are available.

The trek’s main highlight is the summit to Chulu East.  The trail is rich in flora and fauna, with many endangered animals such as Himalayan Sheep, Ibexes, and Snow Leopards. You can also learn about Tibetan-Buddhist culture. This trek provides great geographical and cultural diversity. The people in this region show great hospitality. You will be invited into their homes and communities, allowing you to engage yourself in Nepalese culture. This trail also passes through the Annapurna Conservation Area, which is home to 105 mammals, 518 bird species, 23 amphibians, 40 reptiles, and 1,226 flowering plant species.

Your 14-day adventure begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Chame, the administrative headquarters of Manang. We will travel through several villages, including Lower Pisang, Humde Village, and Julu Khola. We’ll walk toward Paungada Danda and along the Marsyangdi River. We will acclimate at Julu Khola before continuing on our journey. We will then trek to Chulu East Base Camp. We’ll take another day off and do some pre-climbing training. We will then summit Chulu East Peak and descend to Chulu East Base Camp.

  • This trek includes 12 days of strenuous climbing. You’ll be trekking for a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 9 hours per day, reaching elevations of over 5000 meters at times. We cannot overestimate the importance of being in excellent physical shape and health, which requires training before your trip to ensure that you are properly prepared.
  • This is the trek for you if you have previous rock climbing or wall climbing experience. It is recommended that you have prior experience with high-altitude trekking.

Hot water may not be accessible at all times and may be charged extra, as well as access to electrical outlets for charging electronics. Wi-Fi is available in some areas, although the quality of the connection may be poor.
