Trip Introduction
Halesi Mahadev is also known as “Matrika cave”. The Halesi Mahadev is located at a height of 1,460m in the Khotang district of Eastern Nepal. The cave lies 67 ft. below the land’s surface. It has been a popular religious place since ancient Time. The temple is highly important to Hindus, Buddhists, and Kiratas. The temple is located on the top of a tiny hill within a magnificent and mysterious natural cave. Two sacred rivers, the Dudh Koshi and the Sun Koshi, run through the temple. Halesi Mahadev is said to have existed for 6,000 years. Halesi Mahadev, three mystery caverns are said to be Lord Shiva’s three eyes.
Even though Pashupatinath is the most important Lord Shiva Temple for Hindus. Every year during Shivaratri, many devotees visit Haleshi Mahadev to worship Lord Mahadev because Halesi Mahadev is also nicknamed the “Pashupatinath of East”
The trip to this holy temple begins in Kathmandu, going through Banepa and Dhulikhel on the Araniko Highway before joining the road to Sindhuli, Bardibas, the B.P Highway, Nepalthok, and Khurkot before turning to Ghurmi on the Mid- Highway.

Day 1
Arrival at Kathmandu
If you are traveling by flight, on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will meet you there, take you to the hotel, and assist you with the check-in procedure.
If you are coming from Gorakhpur, our representative will pick you from Gorakhpur station and drive you to Kathmandu via. Bhairahawa. When you arrive in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, and we will assist you with the check-in procedure. Get-Freshen up and rest at the Hotel. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2
Drive from Kathmandu to Halesi
After breakfast, prepare to go early in the morning towards Halesi. It is around 2,22 km away from Kathmandu. It will take around 6 to 7 hours to arrive. We will have your lunch on the way. After reaching Halesi you can stroll around or you can rest at the hotel. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 3
Darshan at Halesi Mahadev and Drive back to Kathmandu
Wake up early in the morning and we’ll go to Haleshi Mahadev Temple. After worshiping at Haleshi Mahadev Temple we will head back to the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel. Following breakfast, we will then take the same route back to Kathmandu. We will arrive in Kathmandu in the early evening. You may take a walk around Thamel if you like. Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 4
Full Day Kathmandu Sightseeing
Today we will wake up early in the morning and head for Pashupatinath darshan-Holiest temple of Lord Shiva, after which we will go for breakfast. After breakfast, you will visit the Monkey Temple- Swyambhunath stupa, from where you will get a wonderful view of Kathmandu valley. Swyambhunath will be followed by a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will visit the museum and walk around the area. Lunch on the way. After lunch, you have the rest of the day to do anything you like. You could go shopping around Thamel or New Road or just relax at the hotel.
Dinner and Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 5
Departure
If you are traveling by flight, our representative will drop you off at the airport 3hrs before your flights scheduled departure time.
If you are traveling through Gorakhpur, our representative will drop you off at Gorakhpur station which is about an 8-9hrs journey away.
