Trip Introduction
Janakpur is also known as Janakpur Dham in the Dhanusha District. Cultural and religious tourism is popular in the city. According to popular belief, the city was the capital of the Videha dynasty, which ruled the Mithila region. The city was founded in the 18th century. It is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus because it is linked to the Ramayana. Goddess Sita is said to be born here and married to Lord Ram. It is also known as the city of ponds due to the presence of more than 70 ponds.
The city is well-known for its wide-ranging cultural history, arts, language, and literature. It’s the beating heart of Mithila civilization. The Ram Janaki temple, also known as the Nau Lakha Mandir because it cost 9 lakhs to build, is one of Janakpur’s major attractions. Another attraction in Janakpur is the Ram Mandir, which was built in honor of Lord Ram. The evening aarti at Ganga Sagar is also well-known.
Halesi Mahadev is also known as “Matrika cave”. The Halesi Mahadev is located at a height of 1,460m in the Khotang district of Eastern Nepal. The cave lies 67 ft. below the land’s surface. It has been a popular religious place since ancient Times. The temple is highly important to Hindus, Buddhists, and Kiratas. The temple is located on the top of a tiny hill within a magnificent and mysterious natural cave. Two sacred rivers, the Dudh Koshi and the Sun Koshi run through the temple.
Halesi Mahadev is said to have existed for 6,000 years. Halesi Mahadev, three mystery caverns are said to be Lord Shiva’s three eyes. Even though Pashupatinath is the most important Lord Shiva Temple for Hindus. Every year during Shivaratri, many devotees visit Haleshi Mahadev to worship Lord Mahadev because Halesi Mahadev is also nicknamed the “Pashupatinath of East”.

Day To Day Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival at Kathmandu
On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will meet you there, take you to the hotel, and assist you with the check-in procedure. Depending on your flight time we will customize this day’s activities.

Day 2
Drive to Janakpur
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Janakpur, which is 124 kilometers from Kathmandu. We’ll be on the road for nearly 7 hours. On the way, we’ll eat our lunch. Following the Banepa – Dhulikhel – Khurkot – sindhuli gadi, and finally Janakpur, you will pass the B.P Highway.

Day 3
Janakpur sightseeing
Today, we will go to Ram Janki Temple for darshan early in the morning. Where we will pay a visit to the Bibha mandap, where locals believe Lord Ram and Goddess Sita married. After breakfast, proceed to Jaleshwor Dham, which is well-known for its underground Mahadev. Janakpur to Jaleshwor Mahadev is a 40-minute drive. After the darshan enjoy your lunch and return to Janakpur and then to Dhanusha Dham, where it is believed that a part of Shiva Dhanusha Bow of God Shiva, which was broken by Ram during Sita’s Swayamvara, is stored. We will then be returned to Janakpur and transferred to a hotel where you can rest for a while. Visit Ram Mandir, which is about 10 minutes away from Janaki Mandir. From there, go to Ganga Sagar for its beautiful evening aarti.

Day 4
Drive from Janakpur to Halesi
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Halesi, which is 176 kilometers from Janakpur. We’ll be on the road for nearly 7 hours. On the way, we’ll eat our lunch.
Following the Bardibas – Kamalamai – Khurkot – Diktel road, and finally Halesi, you will pass the B.P Highway.

Day 5
Halesi Mahadev Darshan and Back to Kathmandu
Wake up early in the morning and we’ll go to Haleshi Mahadev Temple. After worshiping at Haleshi Mahadev Temple we will head back to the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel. Following breakfast, we will then take the same route back to Kathmandu. We will arrive in Kathmandu in the early evening. You may take a walk around Thamel if you like. Day 6
Departure
The 5-day journey has concluded. Today is your last day in Kathmandu. Our representative will have a short discussion on the trip and take your feedback after a hearty breakfast. Following this session, he will drive you to the airport in our private transportation 3 hours before your trip.
