Rara Lake is Nepal’s largest freshwater lake. It is located in the Karnali province’s districts of Jumla and Mugu. It is placed in Nepal’s far western region. It is situated at an altitude of 2,990m/9,809ft. It has a 10.8km2 area, a length of 5km, and a width of 3km. The lake is surrounded by mountains and green hills. On the Lake, the mirror effects can also be seen. The lake is 167 meters deep. It is also known as the Queen Lake.
Rara National Park surrounds the lake, which has its unique flora and fauna. It has 20 different mammal species and 214 different bird species.
