Trip Introduction

Everest Short Trek is the mini hiking package of Everest Base Camp Trek. Instead of heading towards to the base of Mount Everest you will be returning back to Lukla from Tengboche. This Everest mini-trek is the shortest, sweetest, and easiest trekking trip that offers a close-up view of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) just in few days from Kathmandu. Every trekker might not have enough time to attend the full trekking to the base of Everest despite their great craving. Considering such situation, Everest Short Trek emerges to satisfy those travelers.

In this Everest View Short Trek, you will be hiking up to the Tengboche Monastery from where the magnificent view of the earth’s highest rocky peak, Mount Everest can be observed. The trip begins with an adventurous flight to the one of world’s dangerous airport, Lukla also known as Tenzing–Hillary Airport. On the same day, four hours of walking reach Phakding Village. Next day hiking will be entering into the Natural World Heritage Site, Sagarmatha National Park. This day, six hours of steep walking takes you to the capital of the Sherpas, Namche Bazaar. Halt one overnight in this wonderful village for proper acclimatization and explore the nearby museum and villages. On the fourth day of this trip, the main and final destination of Everest Short Trek, Tengboche will arrive. Visit Monastery and become face to face with Mt. Everest and back to Kathmandu following the same route.

Day To Day Itinerary

Day 1

Day 01: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,652 m / 8,699 ft).

After having early breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu, we will drop you to Kathmandu Domestic airport and take a spectacular flight (about 35 Minutes) to the small mountain valley airport Lukla, after reaching Lukla, we will start the trek towards Phakding. Overnight at lodge in Phakding.

Day 2

Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazar (3,440 m/11,283 ft).

The trial today passes through a beautiful pine forest and we will continue our walk on a trail that goes north up the Benkar valley following the banks of Dudh Koshi River. We cross the Dudh Koshi River and pass Chumoa and Monjo village before reaching the entrance of Everest National Park. Then after crossing a suspension bridge, we pass jorsale village and walk alongside Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi River. We ascend on a step trial and reach the biggest town in the Everest region i.e. Namche Bazar. We will be staying overnight witnessing beautiful Namche Bazar.

Day 3

Day 03: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazar.

Since we will be gaining a lot of high altitude acclimatization is very important to reduce the chances of altitude sickness. We will have a rest day today at Namche for acclimatization. We will tour to the primary town of the Everest region which is Namche Bazar. We will spend our whole day hiking to the places that are near to the areas. We can hike up to Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas. Our overnight stay will be on Namche Bazaar.

Day 4

Day 04: Trek to Trek to Tengboche (3,860m/12,660ft).

We begin our trek to Tengboche via Phunki. The trek until Phunki is not very difficult. After reaching Phunki we will ascend towards the biggest monastery which is Tengboche Monastery which lies in Tengboche village. The UNESCO world heritage site Sagarmatha National Park is also located here; we can enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas which the monastery is blessed with. The Himalayas including Mt.Everrest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku can be viewed from here. The Monastery opens at 3:00 pm, so if we reach thereby 3 o’clock we can observe the Buddhist religious ceremony. We will be staying overnight in Tengboche.

Day 5

Day 05: Trek to Monjo.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Walking: 7 Hrs. Overnight at Lodge or Teahouse.

Day 6

Day 06: Trek to Lukla.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Walking: 5 Hrs. Overnight at Teahouse or Lodge.

Day 7

Day 07: Fly to Kathmandu.
