About : Chulu East Peak Climbing

Chulu East Peak Climbing offers the majestic glimpse of Chulu West Peak, Mt. Manaslu, Pisang Peak, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, and Gangapurna. Besides these lofty mountains, Chulu East peak climbing provides an equal opportunity to explore the culture and tradition of the local Gurung people sheltered here. In addition, the trail encircles the Tilicho Lake which is recognized as the highest lake on the earth and the holy place as mentioned in a holy book of Hindus – Ramayan.

Chulu East Peak is situated at an altitude of 6,584 m (21,601 ft.) above sea-level, lies in the Manang Valley to the north of Annapurna Massif. It was first summited by a German expedition in 1955 A. D. The journey begins from the same place where the Annapurna Circuit Trek begins from, at Chame.

Chulu East Peak Climbing offers the dignified look of Chulu West Peak, Mt. Manaslu, Pisang Peak, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, and Gangapurna. Besides that, Chulu East peak climbing gives an equal opportunity to explore the tradition and culture of the local Gurung people. In Addition, the trail encircles the Tilicho Lake which is recognized as the highest lake on the earth.

This peak required perfect purpose for those extending their climbing knowledge beyond the trekking peaks of other regions in Nepal. From the top, you can observe the glittering scenery of the nearby peaks. Excellent views of the snow-capped peaks and the stony hills.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

After arriving in Kathmandu, a representative of Jugal Holidays Pvt.Ltd will pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel. In the afternoon, take a rest or visit our office briefing about the trip.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Kathmandu is rich in historical and cultural prospect. The Kathmandu valley has the mix religion of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and also Western influence. After taking breakfast, we will be guide you to visit famous places like Pashupatinath temple, Buddha stupa, Swoyambhunath. In the afternoon after having lunch we will visit Kathmandu durbar square and Patan Durbar square.

Day 03: Drive to Besishar(6-7 Hrs), Besisahar-Syange(2-3 Hrs).

Today, we will drive towards Besishar. When reaching Beshishar our drive continues to Syange village for another 2-3 hrs. Overnight at lodge in Syange.

Day 04: Drive to Dharapani 1,860m, (3 - 4 Hrs).

The drive continues on the high road with the fascinating landscape of the gorge, high hills, waterfalls, and snow-capped peaks the dirt jeep road for two to three hours, the drive continues through the winding path from Syange and Jagat village. After a few hours of driving, we will reach Dhaarapani. Overnight at Lodge in Dharapani.

Day 05: Trek to Chame 2,715m, (5 - 6 Hrs).

Today, we will trek towards Chame. After a refreshingly cool morning walk altitude gains slowly reaching the apple country at Dhana. The trail follows the river Marsyangdi. By passing the villages of Ratamanang and Koto before Chame. From Koto, a half hour of easy walk brings to the village town of Chame (district headquarters of Manag District). Overnight at Lodge in Chame.

Day 06: Trek to Pisang 3,185m, ( 5-6 Hrs).

After leaving Chame, the path crosses through pine woods and small villages with few ups and downs till you reach Bratang. On the way, the great view can be seen of Pisang peak and the Chulu peak with Pisang village, from this range an aristocratic descent for an hour brings to the windswept village of Pisang. Overnight at Lodge in Pisang.

Day 07: Trek to Julu 3,900m, ( 5 - 6 Hrs).

From Pisang, there are two paths that reach to Chulu Base camp and to Manang. Whichever the route is taken both the trail offers outstanding scenery of the surrounding landscapes eventually joining the trail just above Nagawa village, the path from here lead towards a small village of Jhulu. Overnight at Lodge in Julu.

Day 08: At Julu for acclimatization.

Rest day. There are good places for a short hike around with excellent views of the snow-capped mountains.

Day 09: Trek to Chulu East Base Camp 4,700m.

The walk departs the last village for complete wilderness on the arid landscapes with views of both Chulus and the Annapurnas. Overnight at tent in Chulu East Base Camp.

Day 10: Trek and climb to Chulu High Camp at 5,300m.

Today, we will climb to Chulu High Camp. After three to four hours of strenuous walk, we will reach Chulu High Camp.

Day 11: Rest Day at High Camp.

Rest day for acclimatization and for the preparation of the climb.

Day 12: Climb of Chulu East.

The trek continues up snowy ridge. On reaching the top we will have a great panoramic views of the surrounding snow capped mountains and the valley. After a memorable moment descends back to Base Camp for the overnight.

Day 13: Trek to Manang 3,520m, (4 - 5 hrs).

From the Base Camp trek we continue with grand views of the high snow-capped peaks, and descending steeply. The trek is more or less regular on the wide path most of the way to Manang via the village of Braga. It is only an hour walk to Manang from here.

Day 14: Trek to Thorung Phedi via Yak Kharka. 6 hrs.

The track gently winds up offering inspiring views of the Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilocho and the closeup view of Chuli mid and west as the trail heads up in the barren windswept terrain’s with juniper bushes as the only surviving vegetation around this region, coming to small villages of Yak-Kharka.

Day 15: Trek to Muktinath 3,800m. via Thorang - la 5,415m. 6 - 8 hrs.

Starting very early in the morning before the break of dawn catching the magnificent views of the northern Annapurna, Damodar, Bhirkuti and Dhaulagiri range of mountains. The walk continues on the narrow gradual track reaching the height of 5,415m Thorang-la, after a short break here continue on the steep and gradual trail to Muktinath. It holy places and during auspicious time according to Hindu & Buddhist calendar lots of pilgrims visit here.

Day 16: Trek to Jomsom 2, 730m, (3 - 4 Hrs).

The journey carries on with a 1,200m of descent to the Kaligandaki river valley floor; following the gentle trail for another two hours till the large town of Jomsom is reached. 

Day 17: Fly to Pokhara 8,060m. 25 minutes of flight.

After breakfast, we catch an early morning flight to Pokhara. The flight is exciting as we get the aerial view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world.

Day 18: From Pokhara drive back to Kathmandu.

From Pokhara it will take about 5-6 hours driving journey to return Kathmandu. After arriving kathmandu we check into respective Hotels after a great time in the mountains.

Day 19: Final departure

We will escort you to the airport approximately before 3 hours our scheduled flight.
